[SWR] Seeking Endurance Driver
Kim Gripping
S2 licensed
Spider-Web Racing (www.spiderweb-racing.dk) are seeking one or more ( documented by results etc.) skilled driver(s) for upcoming endurance races like Masters of Endurance etc.

The team will be consisting of some of our danish drivers and an international driver with endurace-expirience.

None of our drivers currently have expirience in endurance racing ( except for a 4 hour LAN-race recently ), and therefore we need someone who has done it and knows a lot about it.

Setups and skins will be supplied by [SWR]

Cooperation with another team can be considered.

Interested? PM me, or send me an e-mail.

Regards,

Kim Gripping

I like being danish

I must admit that I haven't heard about it before, but it sure sounds like a great idea Although it might make me drive into something while starring

The danish LFS community is also having it's first LAN-event from the 17th to the 19th of November. 15 people are ready to race and have fun for an entire weekend!

Being one of the organizers, I can't wait to see how it will be going through the weekend.

Saturday night, we'll be running a 4 hour mini le mans event with two drivers pr. computer - so we will se some real driver changes through the night!
Of course, there are prizes for the winners of events during the weekend.

I would have loved to race, but I'm attending the Danish Championship the same night... And that's more important

Best of luck with the race anyway, I'll be there another time!

I have been blessed from above regarding what you seek.

Almost two years ago, I joined a newly started, danish racingteam becoming their webmaster, graphics guru, etc. After the first year, they thought that I had skills, and let me design their new logo and the liveries for their 2006 cars ( BMW 320i E46 WTCC-spec ). Again, they were more than happy with my work, so this summer I got to design a helmet for one of the drivers. The helmet was delivered from the painter last Thursday, and again, the driver was happy about it.

So now people ask me if I could do a design for them.. It was my goal to become "famous" and to earn money designing racecars, and now it's almost reached.

Attached is pictures of the helmet I designed.. The driver loves the green color, and he wanted something red to reflect the danish flag ( red and white ). The logo is my work too

See the BMW with my design on www.klostermann-racing.dk ( danish language - pictures are in "Nyheder"- submenu "Billeder".

BTW: Feel free to contact me if you want advice or anything

Why would anyone cheat in LFS? I never got to understand that. Nothing that needs to be unlocked, and nothing good comes out of it.
Who is the best Dane?

Who is the best LFS-racer in Denmark?
After a lot of planning, www.liveforspeed.dk is happy to announce the official Danish live for speed championship.

“Race dates are set, rules have been made and we have gotten the seal of approval by the developers to call it the official Danish championship”, says Jacob Spring of www.liveforspeed.dk, about the big announcement, and continues, “the only thing we haven’t decided on yet, is what tracks and cars to race? Later today a vote will be cast on the Danish forum, www.lfs-forum.dk, where the Danish community can vote on 7 of the 18 car/track combinations that are used for the Main Hotlap Rank (MHR) on www.lfsworld.net.”

Hereby it’s decided that the Danish championship will be 7 races with different car/track combinations. Further more, the races will be held every second week, so the participants have a better chance to prepare for each race.
As LFS is being discovered by new Danes every day, www.liveforspeed.dk has made sure there’s two servers available for the championship. “If two servers are needed, a pre-qualification where you upload a hotlap for the given car/track combination, will be set in motion. From the submitted hotlaps we will then sort the participants so that they will be on the server that match their laptimes”, an eager Sune Nielsen explains. The race admins have in the point system made it so, that it in their opinion takes more to finish first on server 2, than to finish last on server one, and therefore you get more points for finishing first on server 2, than finishing last on server 1.

www.liveforspeed.dk will, in the future, hold a official Danish championship every fall, and in the spring have small events and race series. Before long, it’s expected that we can announce yet another race inspired happening.

The first race of the official Danish championship will be held on Sunday 3rd of September at 20.00 (GMT+1). More info will be available on www.liveforspeed.dk and www.lfs-forum.dk.

www.liveforspeed.dk
www.liveforspeed.dk and www.lfs-forum.dk was constructed by Richard Torp Jensen, Sune Nielsen, Jacob Spring and Mikael Larsen in December 2005, and is now considered the official Danish site about Live for Speed. The site functions as a Danish news site dedicated to Live for Speed. Further more, a few events and race series have been held by www.liveforspeed.dk on their own server with great success.

Well, I think it's great fun to accelerate away from a 1.6 VTEC Civic... 1.3's gets sucked in through my intake

Oh, who am I kidding.. This is only when I take my mate's BMW 323i E30 for a ride Fun anyways..

Okay... I hope Scawen is aware of it. Thanks for your help anyways

( now, his brake pedal has started spiking.. Gotta love Logitech! )

But.. The laptimes are changed too... So now there are no problems with driving a 1.13.6 time

This is getting weird!

I think I have solved it.

I was running testpatch 17, and he was on a pure patch U, so I downloaded patch 18 for us both.. Now, the cars are even again.

I thought that there should be no difference in the physics from patch U to the testpatches?

In the game, the bars that shows braking and acceleration force both shows 100% ( same level as clutch and handbrake force ). It makes no difference if we use Logitech Profiler or not..
Different car performance on equal systems

Me and my dad are playing LFS, and we participate in some leagues too. Today, when we were practicing for a race on Aston Club with XRT, we noticed that although we have the same computer specs, same steeringwheel and pedals ( Momo Racing ), even the same setup with the same amount of fuel - the car drives 4 km/h faster and has better grip on my computer, but on his computer, the car brakes better?

We have tried swapping the steeringwheels, we have gone through all our settings, and everything is equal.

Is this a known bug, or what is going on? On my computer, there are no problems driving 1.13.6 times with the XRT ( for me ), but when I try his, I can only manage 1.14.1's...

It is very annoying, as we have some "serious" races to do soon..

If it's a public server, everyone should be allowed to race.. Fast or slow. I couldn't care less if you are 4 seconds slower than me per lap if you just give me the space needed to overtake you.

I don't understand people who votes to ban a slow driver. They must really like themselfes too much for their own good. Yuck.

And please, don't tell me that you expect 100% clean racing and alien laptimes when you join a public server. Well, if you do, then I understand why you would ban a slow driver. I'd also tell you to jump off a cliff, because you would probably be dumb enough to do it

It works around here In a bigger town close to me, the whole main street works like that. It's a blast in the middle of the night

It's mainly because of the way, LFS is made and published. If the devs spend money on advertising, the magazines would be there instantly. But who would spend money on advertising when you only have an alpha-version out?

I understand why they don't do it, but it also limits the amount of new buyers.

Regarding RSC-forums, the reason for their "GTR-is-the-god" attitude could be that the whole game started out as a mod, based on members from.. RSC. So, Simbin has returned the favour, RSC did by making a forum, supporting them etc., by using RSC as their "favourite fanbase". No wonder. But unfortunately, it has turned RSC into a GTR-community, with a lot of subforums. Only reason I check RSC nowadays, is the danish subforum where most danish simracers ( of course, pro-GTR's now ) post.

th84> Wow, you're really taking everything personal, aren't you? Christ.

I don't find F1 interesting either, it has nothing to do with racing anymore. 95% hi-tech, 4% money, 1% skills.

Flaming is not my cup of tea, so I'll just leave that to you guys. Just wanted to let you know that I don't want to flame USA or NASCAR, and that F1 is boring..
